From Pastor T.H. Ferrell's Desk

I began attending Mt. Vale in October of 1994. From there I began to work for the Lord offering anything I could to help such as teaching Sunday school, lending a hand with the sound, greeting people as they came in the doors, and heading up the visitation team. I felt that I owed such a debt to the Lord for all he had done for me and all of the sin that he had brought me out of. Luke 7:47 says, “Wherefore I say unto thee, her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.” This is what fueled me to jump in and give of myself in any area that help was needed or work could be done. I was willing to do anything that needed to be done and go wherever the Lord sent me. Eventually in 1999, I became the assistant Pastor. On March 17, 2004, I became the Pastor of our wonderful church with the support of my loving wife, Norma, and our kids Brandon, Heather, and Caleb who have remained by my side. It has been the absolute greatest honor of my entire life to be the Pastor of Mt. Vale Church of God.

I desire for Mt. Vale to be a Christ-centered church full of rapture-ready people. My vision is for the people of God to go out and reach a lost and dying world, and bring them in. We were not called just to sit back and hope that people will come in to the church. I believe we must be the hands and the feet of Jesus and go out into the world spreading his love to everyone that we come in contact with. It is my firm belief that there is a soul for every seat, not just in our church, but in the churches in our community around us and all across our nation. The Bible says in Luke 2:10, “Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” My heart’s desire is to for the people of God to pray for the harvest and to go out and be the labourers. I came from such depths of sin myself that I feel such a passion to help people come out of sin, because I know from experience what a loving and gracious God he is. I want the people of Mt.Vale to be empowered to go out and find those who are in need and bring them in so they too can encounter a life-changing and restoring Savior who loves them.

At Mt. Vale, everybody is somebody. No matter what race, ethnicity, social status, or walk of life you come from, you are welcome at our church. Each and every one of us is created for a purpose, and no matter where you are in life, there is help and restoration in Jesus Christ. That is what I desire for our church to be: a place where men and women of all ages and walks of life can come and find help, healing, and come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.
